I found a small coolant leak from under the right side of my 3.4 engine. It was from a small rubber elbow pipe easily accessible. The clip looked rusty so I decided to replace it and to my horror the original spring clip just easily broke away when I started to remove it. Rusted right through.
I have now replaced it with a stainless steel jubilee clamp from Screwfix and leak stopped. Looking at the other end of the pipe the spring clip there is also rusty but not so bad and I will replace asap. I notice on Design911 that the spring clips are now replaced with Jubilee types so obviously they have given trouble.
As these cars are now quite old it may be a good idea for people to check these clips before they let go completely while out on a run!
Does anyone know of other similar spring clips on the car that are also likely to have this rust problem. I would rather tackle it in the garage than on the side of the road!
