RS Insurance in London ..............

That time of year again ! I was hoping that A Manning would do the job for me this year, but in London they just aren't competitive - £1,800 for 5k miles on my Motec'd RS with cage. Any of you other London dwellers, Des, Matt etc had any good quotes recently ? Particularly interested in a policy with track cover if possible ...................

Ta,

Jamie

When London based, I always used Giles Gowers on 01245 329484... they always did me proud but note this was with common 911's and I wasn't taking the car on the track. Worth having a chat though? Friendly operation, mention I refered you and they may recall my 10 yrs of loyalty!
And there is also a recent track day insurance discussion here

that might be of help.

Hi Jamie I use Aon and have an SW7 postcode. Just upped the annual mileage from 3000 to 5000 so I can go to Spa and not drop any UK events for mileage reasons. New premium for me is £547 , car insured for £35k value , 5 trackdays included and extra ones cost about £35 / go. 10% excess on trackday claims ie £3500!
Car has full cage , mild power upgrade to 290 , LHD etc.

Thanks John,
AON are in the reckoning at £540 for me in W14 including my cage and MoTeC, based on £38k agreed value for 5k miles, which doesn't seem bad - but they won't cover European days (might do Spa as it's PCGB approved, but will have to check with them at the time), and the relatively high trackday excess at 10%. Also they need a Cat 1 alarm.
Alternatively I tried Autotorque, mentioned by someone recently, and they came back with £595 for 5k miles, but with only a £950 excess on track (£200 on road), unlimited trackdays including Europe at £55 a day, and no requirement for Cat 1 security (I just have the factory Porsche immobiliser).
I'm just trying to figure out which one of those is actually the better deal .....................

Anybody have any thoughts ?

thanks,

Jamie
