Hello all

My first message on the forum and I' m after some help. Does anyone know of a good rolling road that can setup solexs carbs? It would be a bonus if it was in the midlands! The 12 is running well just needs a tweak as the new solex' s have only been guest for jetting etc. Jon D

I don' t know of any rolling roads in the Midlands - what I would say is that if you are having trouble gettng the engine to run properly it is worth checking the distributor. When I changed the distributor on my ' 12 to an 050 it made a huge difference to the way it ran - the engine response was vastly improved.

Have you had the carbs rebuilt or did you manage to find a new pair?

I have heard good reports of a chap in Buckinghamshire who rebuilds the carbs for about £200 each - I fully intend to get the carbs done on my engine one day....

Hi Jon!
Welcome aboard...
I know someone who had their car done somewhere near Southampton (not a Forum/club member) I will email him to get the details.
Cheers
Gavin
p.s. I think Jon already has a 050 from memory

Cheers for the replies chaps.

For info my engine has been fully rebuilt (everything apart from the block), running a 050 (well remember Gavin). It was running on delortos but due to heat soak problems and no isolators between the cards and manifolds they distorted, resulting in only 3 cylinders working correctly. So they have been change for a set of rebuilt solexs. The car is running v.well, but I just want to make sure I getting the most out of it + interested to see what hp it is producing. So if you can remember that place Gavin that would be great.

Do you still need cars for eynsham hall, you could put mine in the in progress section, I' ll understand if your not so keen due to the naff paint.

Now whats wrong with abit of naff paint!

I know Andy has mentioned to me about a rollin road up by him which he uses and has recomended to me to use when I hit the 4K mark. Andys in North Essex.

Gav.... could you mention it the next time you ring him requiring when you get your engine back!![:D] or I' ll email him!
