Ride Quality - 981 versus 987

I have just traded my 2010 Cayman S for a 2014 Cayman S with the 20mm lowered suspension and PTV. Given the reduced suspension travel I was expecting to find a noticeably harder ride, but have been surprised to find that it seems no harsher than my old car over a wide range of road surfaces.
Have other 981 owners found the same thing? Have Porsche sprinkled their fairy dust and engineered more compliance into the 981?

Interesting stuff.

My CR is currently under offer and I am considering looking at a 2015 PDK Cayman GTS with Sport Suspension with 20mm lower ride height.

You have allayed my concerns about SS being a non-compliant suspension set up.
