Reversing Camera Retro Fit

I have a 718 Cayman GTS which I bought new and ignored the reversing camera option. Does anyone know if OPC's offer this as a retro fit option and if it is an easy or major job?

Thanks

Neil

I don't believe it's offered as a Tequipment option therefore not an OPC retrofit option. Given the integration required with the wiring loom I'd say you'd need to go aftermarket and hope it doesn't mess up the rest of the car.

It's not something I'd look to have done on such a new car as there's also the issue of how it would affect any warranty claims.

Neil,

In looking at the parts diagrams, there appears to be a linked commonality with existing systems that you have

Perhaps the camera hardware can be attached - combined with this i.e. a plug - play `jumper` cable

Neil,

As Andrew has indicated I’m sure that some or all of the appropriate wiring is in place, although I don’t know if the same applies to the display capability.

I reckon that your best bet is to have a conversation with your dealer to find out if a retrofit is possible. As Dave says, you do need to be sure to remain with the stringent Porsche warranty policy.

Thanks for the helpful comments. I'm hoping that everything is already be in place , albeit redundant and its a case of fitting a camera and telling the PCM.
I'll speak to my dealer and report back . If nothing else, it will answer the question for others.

Kufatec are worth a look, although I can’t see the 718 on their list.
