Resistor Pack - Part Number?

The ballast resistor has been occasionally troublesome on my car, but it always mended itself. Since its Winter lay-off Ive had everything or nothing, so I am contemplating replacing it.

Is it a difficult job?

If you mean the resistor pack for the HVAC fan, there are two designs for the oval dash. I actually changed the whole fan housing as the one in the 2.7 that had to be scrapped was in much better nick. Not sure on the part numbers, also not sure if they are different for AC and non AC or its an age thing.
Easy enough to change the resistor pack though, its on top of the fan housing under the plastic cover and held in place by two screws IIRC.

Thanks James. This is an '88 with AC. Jeremy took it out a few times and fettled it, but it appears to have died again. Ive never actually owned an oval dash car of any type which has had a problem so its all theoretical so far. I had been thinking about taking the part out of my unused 2.7 though...

Yes, twice I popped it out and gave it a squirt, the first time I made the mistake of using WD40...which worked very well, but caused a little white acrid smoke as it burned off.....

I would suggest taking it out and soaking it in vinegar for 30 min or so then rinsing it off with spray electrical cleaner. Blow dry with some compressed air or hair dryer. Mine worked perfectly after that
