Region 13 Report for July 2010 at The Bowling Green

A good turn out of Porsches and members as usual and I was pleased to meet newcomers, Derek Sweeney and Chris Crowther, from nearby Stourport, whom we look forward to as regulars. But first an apology to David Mould. It was he, who was runner up in the senior men's 400m, not his dad as I reported last month.
Otherwise, July was a quiet month, unlike August, most of which will have gone by, when you read this.
There was much interest in a visit to "Big Pit" at Blaenavon, near Abergavenny, now a mining museum, with trips down into the workings. We went about ten years ago and now as the membership has changed so much, is perhaps a time to go again. Therefore, I am looking at booking a visit for one of the last weekends in September.
Please contact me to confirm your interest in this, as soon as possible, so I can book enough places. 01905 620687..
Otherwise, some pictures from our Show Night at The Pear Tree and some of our visit to Hereford Aero Club. This latter received a good line up of Porsches and we were joined by a few other Classics to add to the fun. Unfortunately, the general public jammed the canteen, so it was a good job most of us brought picnics.
FORTHCOMING EVENTS.
"Big Pit" Look out for a fixed date in September.
Meguiars Visit in October. Saturday the 30th. Start 9.30 am for coffee and biscuits, so plan to fold your pyjamas early, to get there on time.
I hope you are enjoying August. John Lord.
