Region 13 Report - February 2013.

"Went the day well". Or at least, the evening. Thirty-four of us gathered at the Bell Inn, Lower Broad Heath, Worcester, for what has now become our annual dinner and skittles match. The two together, resulting in a good social evening and away from the usual "Turkey grind" of Christmas meals.

For all this, a great thank you to our hosts once again, Ian and Lyndsey, coming up trumps with food and service with a smile.

The ultimate top scorer for the ladies was Leslie Crosskell and for the men, Branson Poyner.
Both received excellent "˜wet' refreshment, kindly donated by Steve Cutler, a great thanks to Steve for a very generous gift.

This year, I avoided providing dust gathering trophies, so we played for 'our supper'. Both the above, will receive a cheque against their 'dinner money' instead. Well done, for accurate balls, er bowls, to the winners.

Now, something from you please, some names against the following. All printed in some detail, last month. I know some seem far away, now, but beware, suddenly they fill up.

Fiennes. April Saturday 6th.

Located at Lechlade, about twenty miles south of Moreton-in-Marsh. A good Saturday run-out as a Summer taster.

The Company are very skilled in restoration and have many winners at Pebble Beach, one of the highest regarded Concours competitions in the Northern hemisphere.

They are particularly anxious for us to visit them and already, chasing me for numbers. In fairness, they are arranging lunch and I really need your names on 'paper', so we can make it all worthwhile.

Curborough. Thursday, May 16th.

This is a Sprint Circuit, just North of Lichfield. Cost details were printed last month. If you have worries about starting sprinting or trying track events, here is the place to try yourself.

The circuit is as testing as you make it. There is nobody else on but you, so you can go at your own learning pace.

You will be required to sign an indemnity form but no special clothing is required and no timing is allowed, so there is no pressure to exceed your abilities. Usually passengers are allowed but they also must sign an indemnity before entering a car. Time to impress wives and lovers but avoid divorces etc., by sensible driving. We send 'naughty boys' home.

This is a highly popular and enjoyed event, attended by other Regions. Numbers are limited, to give everybody several goes, usually around eight.

First come, first served so it is important to book your place as soon as possible. I have often had to refuse latecomers.

Concours. June 9th, Sunday CHANGE OF FORMAT

. Revised to 'A Parade of Porsches' Due to lack of interest in Concours. ANYBODY, bring your favourite Porsche, whether it be a racer, tracker, trialer or just a mudlarker, or of course a polisher. Will probably give us overall, a better show of the Club.

. We are amalgamating this event with North Wales, Gloucester and Cotswold Regions. Any Club Porsche is invited.
Details last month, subject to appropriate revision.

I shall be putting together an Entry Form but in the meantime, let me have your names so we can be assured of the viability of this meet. Our hosts there are vary anxious to welcome us.

The above events are critical, in numbers dictating their viability so Please do respond as soon as you can.

There are other events planned for the first half of the year, do read last month's Report for details and also see them on R13 website.

There are more in the pipeline, so keep up to date with Steve's regular news post.

Our aim is to enjoy your cars and enjoy life with Region 13. A fun year,"¦"¦"¦"¦.John
