Replacing Audio System with High Resolution playback

Hi All
Has anybody thought or have replaced the Audio system in their car with a High Resolution Audio player. Replacing a CDR-23 Head unit and CDC-4, 6 CD Auto changer with something a bit more modern in a Boxster S 986 2003 model.
I want to be able to play MP3, CD rips and 24bit/96 or 192kHz, Wav, Flac files etc.

I've done it, but possibly not what you have in mind. Fitted a Pioneer SPH DA120 with Apple Carplay. Not an easy job as my car has Bose.

What head unit are you thinking about?

Thanks for the reply. I haven't got any thoughts on any particular player, just replacing CD Autochanger with something else which will involve a head unit change.
My wife's new Audi has an SD Card slot in the dash which is very useful and it will play MP3 and CD rips OK.
Would like to have similar in the porky

I've run cables into the chubby hole in the centre armrest. In effect three cables: 1 for HDMI should I ever want to play videos (unlikely) 2 is USB which will take a memory stick (or in my case an old iPod) and 3 an Apple Lightening cable for connection of my phone to CarPlay.

The Bose setup has a fibre optic loop between head and CD stacker and amp, so I removed the CD stacker and replaced the amp

I went to Halfords yesterday and saw the head unit you bought. It's a double DIN size so twice as big as my Becker unit. Was told to have a look at Car Audio Security dot com but it doesn't look hopeful as yet, but I'll keep at it. Perhaps a bit previous for High res as such. Going to Bristol Hi-Fi show this week so may have an ask around while there. Astell & Kern do a portable high res player so might look into that.
