Replaced fuel pump, now have a leak at the pressure regulator

So I went for a Bosch pump in the end to keep everything stock, fitted it tonight and went fairly smoothly took about an hour and a half going slow.

The car hasn't ran for years and it kicked first time and ran ok.

However after a few mins noticed a fuel leak not massive but a steady drip from the regulator (i'm assuming its a regulator) on the fuel rail on the engine closest to the front of the car. The leak looks to be coming from where the 2 halves of the part are joined but hard to tell as light was bad and engine was warming up so shut it off.

I read at clarks its unusual for pumps to just break there is usually a cause wonder if this was the reason? However I read it was the pressure regulator at the back that causes problems?!

Any ideas where I can get this in the Glasgow area? guess I'll try the usual places first!

hmm looks like the PET catalogue describes it as a pressure damper as distinct for the rear fuel pressure regulator. they look the same?

If it's a similar fitting to the actual FPR at the rear then there is a small rubber O ring on the male part that plugs into the fuel rail. If this car has stood for years its highly likely this rubber seal will have shrunk and is now leaking. Local Motor Factors may be able to supply a new O ring.

it appears that black oring is the same as an injector seal but its def not the problem the leak seems to be from the body of the unit.

I need to get a new pulsation damper and fuel pressure gauge and go from there, if any body has one please give me a shout!

think the part number is bosch 0208161015
