repair sills any thoughts on these?

I don't know anything about these although I'm sure a few guys on here will have BUT I'd rather spend £150 (per side) on the official Porsche replacement sill rather than welding these on top the old sill.

why spend more if it does the same job?my thoughts on them were more that there would be a lip?

I've not seen them fitted, but I'd have thought there would be a visible lip? Also, if you need a complete sill then you've got to remove the rotten metal underneath or you're leaving a problem for the future, so will they be fixed to anything?

It might cost less to buy cheap pattern sills, but remember the extra work to fit them will even the cost out anyway. It's a once-in-a-lifetime repair, so do it right would be my instinct.

It isn't the same job however. It's a different and less comprehensive repair using non-genuine parts.

It looks like the one that was on the passenger side of the square dash I had because the return was not folded in but welded to the inner of the 2 seams - looked quite good from the outside although I did have to open (or reopen cant remember) the drain holes.

Theyre not great. On a racer theyd be fine (Kev Eacock uses them) , but theyre a bodge on a road car.

Buy proper ones from Porsche. Only £150 a side direct replacement. These don't give you all of the lower lip that you need.It is usually the bottom that rots first and you only see it when it starts to run up the side.I would agree with 944 man that they are just a botch job. If you are going to go to the effort of replacinbg you sills then do it right.By the time you pay some one to fit weld and paint them the difgference in the overal job would be very small indeed. If you want to see how to repair sills look at my posts "what lies beneth" or at peter's blog on line and that will show you what is involved.By the way where do you live as Alisdiar will fit them for you or i would do it as well but only if you are able to come up to Scotland.
