Does anyone know how to remove the leatherette panel that is between the airbag cover and steering wheel and surrounds the stereo, climate control, cigarette lighter, fog light toggles etc?

Mine isn't in perfect condition and I want to replace it with a new one.

Cheers

Sam

Sam, Have you checked how much they cost? I was going to replace the leatherette covered plastic trim around the gear stick (which admittedly is bigger) - but OPC claimed the price was over £600 and actually recommeded a trimming firm who would recover it in same material for a lot less. Not had job done yet.

But your question still applies - you have to remove it.

Depending what is wrong with it you could also try dyes from www.dynamixdyes.com. I used their dyes on my car, including some of the leatherette and they worked really well. Lot cheaper than £600 !

I spoke to Dave at Southbound and the job involves taking off the knee roll, removing the stereo, climate and cigarette lighter, plus the toggles for fogs etc, then peeling the old trim off as it's glued on. Then reversing the process....

Labour would be around £225 and the part is.....£287 plus VAT less 10% for PCGB member = £528!!! Ouch!!!
