Remote controlled Alarm

Is the remote controlled alarm standard, mine has the led light and sensors however no fob....

I believe a tracker was fitted however again no paperwork...

How do I get these resolved?

Siraj,

No 964s had a remote control alarm from the factory. Most UK delivered cars had an alarm fitted by Hamilton & Palmer - I think the PA1000 - and that is probably your best port of call. Their web site is at www.hamilton-palmer.co.uk and they are reportedly very helpful.

If you call, they can upgrade the PA1000 to a PA2000 for about £600, it uses some of the original wiring and alarm box+ a few bits and bobs to make it full Thatchem compliant, Mine was fitted last year ish.

Siraj,

I'm not in the best position to answer your question as I don't have one, but I'm pretty sure it's via a remote fob. H&P are very good at providing replacements so talking to them has to be the thing to do.

Dave

The alarm system is under your seat, thats the bit of kit Hamilton uses, because all the imputs already exist, their next parts add functionality to that alarm input, such as a new sounder, volt drop sensing full closure (extra I might add) and so on, all the new PA2000 stuff is fob activated, the older dongle thingy does the same kind of thing, but not to the same extent.

No emails reply from Hamiltons so will have to pick up the dog and bone on Monday and give them a call. Interesting I don't have the "older dongle" thing so a bit miffed that a crucial element is potentially missing. There is also a tracker fitted to the car so may try and get hold of the owner prior to the last one before 2002!!

Have a good weekend all.
