Many of you on the 964 Register will have received an e-mail from me yesterday regarding the data currently held on file about you and your car. This data is held at Cornbury House and is not sold or distributed to anyone outside of the Club. Over the years the data becomes outdated where people sell cars, change registrations, move house etc. etc. and fail to inform the Club.
As the "new broom" I'm trying to tidy up that database and complete a lot of missing information. Of particular interest is the fact that approximately 160 of the 706 records I have on file have no e-mail address registered and, as technology becomes more important, the lack of an e-mail address will distinctly diminish many of the Club's resources available to you.
In a conversation with Barry Smith (Register Director) yesterday he made the point that to write to all Club members asking for this data to be updated would cost the Club in excess of £4,000 in postage alone, let alone the cost of paper, envelopes etc. Doing this by e-mail saves the Club a huge amount of money.
If you haven't received an e-mail from me it means that any address I have for you is no longer valid or I don't have an address at all. If this is the case I would appreciate it if you could send an e-mail to me - addressed to 964@porscheclubgb.com - giving me your Club membership number. I will then send you a copy of the data we currently hold and I would very much appreciate it if you could amend and/or complete it as necessary and return it to me.
Please note that this is specific to 964 ONLY. There are a number of 964RS cars on this Register and I have already informed Mel Spear of those. Celebration cars ARE included in the 964 Register, but are sadly lacking in numbers.
Thanks for your cooperation and I look forward to hearing from you.
Regards
Dave
