Refurb Wheels.

There have been some cracking posts recently regarding refurbished wheels. My Fuchs wheels on my 3.2 were not looking too good but I use my car every day, so there would be a problem, no spare set of wheels, car on axle stands etc, decided to have a go myself, I hope I can embed the pictures of the results. Before and after.

excellent job - I started to do mine a while back, gave up after 2 days and took them to get professionally done. Looks like you have more patience and more skill than me []

It's not particularly difficult. I did a set of five alloys on a Vauxhall Cavalier SRi at one time. I made up some masks and used double sided tape. It's time consuming. Took me a week on and off. Most satisfying though!

Thanks for your replies, I used the spare to replace one wheel at a time, washed the wheel, used fine wet and dry to lightly key the painted sections, took my time to mask the wheel. The paint came from Halfords and is "Plasti-Kote" Super Enamel 672 Satin Black spray can, I also purchased same brand of grey primer spray, cost per can was £5.76 and used 2 cans primer and 2 and a bit of Satin Black in total, while I am sure they don't come close to a professional job I enjoyed it. I tested the paint on the centres first, spraying the centres last summer to see how the would last. They were fine but will update you all if the paint starts to peel off, did not use lacquer"¦"¦..regards"¦.Gwyn
