I'm looking at fitting a set of Red seat belts to my S2. I need to identify a donor car where I could source them from. Has anyone fitted a set of seat belts from a different make of car to their 944.

I fitted a set of green mini belts into my old mk3 golf worked fine they also did red belts in the old minis

metro gti's had red belts.

Or http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/WEBBING-RED-38MM-SEATBELT-CHILD-PET-HARNESS-DIY-1-METRE-LENGTH-/170827484333?pt=UK_Crafts_Fabric_Textiles_SM&hash=item27c61c8cad

Im not sure how you would go about securing/stitching it though. I'm sure there are some major safety requirements surrounding it!

porscheshop sels model specific coloured belts http://www.porscheshop.co.uk/acatalog/porsche_coloured_seat_belts_red_silver_blue_yellow.html

Im not going to comment about Porscheshop, but I will tell you where to go to buy coloured belts - certainly better than adapting/bodging used belts from other cars in.

Google "Quickfit SBS". Theyre a belt specialist and they will re-web your existing inertia reel assembly, essentially making it a new belt and their rates are extremely reasonable.

In the past Ive had blue red and pink (for STI Subarus), but they have a massive range of colours.

Ive changed my mind, after looking at the link: dont buy their* ridiculously overpriced seat belts!

edited to add - *Porscheshop's [:D]

I am looking at MG's and Fiat Cinquecento as possible donor cars for the belts. I also thought about buying the webbing but ruled that out because I wouldn't be able to re-stitch the seat belt anchor back on.

Porscheshop; well what can I say other than expensive. Then I read Simon's reply and thought Oh that sounds good and proceeded to send them an email asking for a price only to find Simon's comments about changing his mind so I guess you could say I was in like a big dog

Nooo!

Porscheshop = excessively expensive.

Quickfit SBS = new webbing for very little!

Sorry that I wasnt clear there, was referring to my intention not to negatively comment on Porscheshops products/prices. After checking out the link I couldnt keep quiet. I suspect that PS use QuickfitSBS too...

Ok I misunderstood Simon I couldn't believe the prices on Porscheshop either, but have emailed Quickfit SBS so await to hear what their reply will be.

Im sure that when I first used them, I paid £30, but I cant remember if that was each or for the pair.

I used quickfit SBS to repalce all mine.....I had them tested and webbing replaced also the top hangers were a bit cracked so they did those aswell ...I think I paid around £180 for all 4

It was a very good service....

Well I've took a bit of a punt and just order these

I realise the locking spade is different and that they are rear RH belts but I'm taking a chance on them being able to fit either side. With regards to the spade I hope to have a couple of options. Either have the seat belt alerted by Quickfit SBS or look out for some suitable receivers. Total cost for 4 including postage £23.94

I will either be reporting a success on here at some stage or admitting to throwing 24 quid away.

Another vote for Quickfit SBS, they fitted rear intertia belts to my 911 and did a brilliant job and managed to resuse the buckles from the lap belts so that it looks original. Very well priced too.

I am pleased to report that my £23.94 gamble paid off, I have completed one of the rear belts so I now know that I can repeat the process for the other 3. For those that may be interested Quickfit SBS charge £27.50 + VAT per belt. That equates to £132.00 to do all 4 belts plus your postage to get them there so I guess you could call it £140.00 all in, which is still good value. Anyway I'm well pleased with my success, it makes for a pleasant change. I just need a decent pair of rear seat belt receivers now as the plastic is all split on mine.
