Recommendations for pre-purchase check

Hi there
A friend of mine is looking at buying a 2007 997 from a garage in Havant and I have suggested it might be a good idea to get it looked at (including a bore scope) before he parts with his hard earned wonga!
I wonder if you lovely people can suggest a reliable independent near to Havant to contact. Two in the area I have found are Analogue in Petersfield or AW at Southbourne. I haven't been able to talk to either yet but some feedback would be helpful [:)]
Thanks

Laura

Thanks for that. Yes, they are a little far. AW Motorsport/Phil Raby seem the nearest but has anyone any experience of them? I remember Phil Raby from wayback!

Thanks David. I'll keep that one in reserve. I have spoken to AW Motorsport. Really, really helpful but sadly too busy - now booking for April!!! That's the problem with being good at what you do. He has, though, put me in touch with somebody else he trusts so we'll take it from there.

Hi
Not in answer to your actual question, but is the car at the Performance Car Company? If so, I have bought from there before and found them very honest and friendly people to deal with. I purchased an Elise from them a few years back which had a timing belt fail soon after purchase. PCC agreed to cover the full cost and give me cash for the repair so I could use my own choice of garage. I was expecting them to refuse as the failure happened on a track day.
