Hi, shortly I will need my car transported about 80 miles with engine & gearbox out. I understand it will need to be correctly pulled onto a trailer/flatbed to avoid suspension &/or front spoiler damage.
The car is a 1976 911 & does have an original towing hook at the front on the LHS in front of the A-Arm/Torsion bar, plus it has a lug at the rear which exposes a thread for the towing eye to screw into. Again, it's offset
Firstly, can these towing points be used to winch onto a trailer even though they are offset? If not anywhere else where can the winch straps can be attached safely? I'd be happy to remove the front spoiler if this helps.
Or, is it recommended that a specialist transporter is used for the early 911? If so, any recommendations would be appreciated. Car is located in South Buckinghamshire near High Wycombe.
Thanks!
