Porsche have today announced a recall which will affect all Cayenne models from 2010 on. Following a number of cracks appearing in the Cayenne "S" alloy wheels dealerships around the country will be advising customers not to drive their cars until checks have been carried out.

Porsche are so concerned that they have instructed dealerships to visit the homes of customers so affected and, if necessary, remove the wheels as it is considered too dangerous to drive to the nearest Porsche dealer.

One customer in Germany, Herr Aprilscherz, submitted this photograph after he had been paid a visit by his local Porsche Centre service staff.

He was later quoted as saying
"Wer sagt, die Deutschen haben keinen Sinn für Humor"
