Recalcitrant Cab hood ?

The hood on my cab always works but involves a lot of faffing before it deigns me worthy to operate it, engine off, handbrake on, ignition on and press button, nothing, faff about a bit more and turn thegine off then on and it worked, all seems fine, does what it should but to my mind it should just work when I press it !

Any pointers ?

I think that there is a microswitch in the top rail of the windscreen that is operated by the locating pin on the roof (presumably to stop you operating the roof if it not unlocked). I find that if you crack the hood open it tends to work first time.

Ok, cheers, located the microswitches and blasted a bit of WD40 in there, seems to work now, cheers !

Anyone else think that every 944 needs to be driven through a sheep dip type trough of WD40, never known a car that benefits for various lubricants more than this one, window runners, roof, hinges, shift linkage etc etc

Appeared to have cured the damp boot as well, a bit of clear silicone where the water was running in between the slam and the rear panel (it is a cab), so two jobs sorted for nothing.
