Rear trailing arms interchangeable??

Hi,have just ramp checked my early square dash 944 8v and noticed the trailing arm is heavily corroded and pitted.This is especially notable on the strut mounts where i feel it will rust through soon.
Do the late model alloy arms fit, as mine are the early steel type.

1986 model year parts will fit best, but Id be looking to change the whole shooting match. Itll be worth it as soon as you come to change the rear bearings.

Thanks for the reply,do you happen to know aside from the actual trailing arm what else i would need?Am i right in thinking the later arms will widen the track?
