Rear spoiler problem

Member
Rear spoiler rises when I start the car and stays up Rear spoiler doesn't go back down when car comes to a halt The rear spoiler seems to have a life of its own, it will go down manually but as soon as the manual switch is released it goes up again. The spoiler light is on the dash but goes off after some time at above 50 mph There also seems to be a clicking (relay?) sound coming from the passenger side when the manual control is used and when the car is started Any ideas? Relay, control unit, micro switches? Scott

sounds like a relay or switch fault to me. Its like the contacts in the relay are not releasing the spoiler up contact. So hence the spoiler is basically being overridden to the up position. Have you checked the manual switch? It may well also be stuck on spoiler up. Checking the switch should be easy with a multimeter. if you unplug the manual switch does the spolier still go up on its own?? I would try this first Tim
