Finally stopped raining so looked at the problem.
1 disconnected the lock microswitch from the connection to the motor loom( white plug connection under lock ) and unplugged motor from loom( black barrel connector) - no blown fuse
2 reconnected microswitch and left motor unconnected - no blown fuse
3 reconnected motor as well , one turn of the key worked once then blew fuse
So it must be a problem with the motor or wiring to its black connector .?
Just for piece of mind pulled each fuse in turn to check all other circuits and only no 1 fuse showing extra power being pulled (used a test light on neg terminal of battery )
As to where the in car switch gets its power from I don't know ( still works with no 1 fuse blown ), but will find out for piece of mind by pulling each fuse in turn when I get the lock opening sorted.
Thanks again for all the pointers , will fit another motor I have spare first of all then will investigate the bad one.
