Anyone know where I can buy these for an '83 944? (Not tried OPC yet.) Can only find on i-net Porscheshop but for >86 version only

Cheers
Andy

Do you mean the rubbers in the body over the catches? if so i think I may have a few spare.

Cheers Alasdair

Colin, yes, it the rubbers in the body, in to which the lock pins go. My drain tubes are ok but I have a bit of a leak since the back end was sorted and sprayed and it looks like these need renewing

I could be wrong but my understanding is that it doesn't matter what version of hatch pin seals you have as they can be fitted to any year. Over the 944's life the seals were updated for better performance, with the 968 seals being the last and best.

I found a couple but they are not in the best of nick.I had a thing for buying sets of hatch catches on ebay for a while I bought about 4 sets in order to get one really good set.Still alot cheaper than buying new from porsche. If you want the rubbers pm me and i will send a vouple of photo's.

Thanks Colin, I really appreciate you looking. If you're not offended I'll check OCP price first, seems to makes sense to replace my not so good ones with some new ones, rather than some that aren't 100%, price pending of course!

Thanks again
Andy

when fitting its a good idea to give them a coat of silicone or red grease (makes fitting easier and seals better!).

Not a problem mate. I don't think they will be too expensive from porsche anyway. But if you get stuck you know where I am.

£16 a side from Porsche for the 944 ones. Don't grease them as the grease attacks the rubber. Just put them in very hot water to soften them before fitting. there is a knack to doing them, start at one side first and use a blunt tool to seat the seal under the lip gradually all the way round. Sounds like another FAQ required!

Sorry, now edited my post!
Silicone and red grease are rubber friendly.

Hi .I had a lot of trouble getting these for my 83 944 .I ordered the correct ones for the year but found them a little bigger than the ones on the car .I trimmed them carefully to make them fit and it did the job rather than send them back and start the hunt again .£16 each is about right .I also ajusted the lock pins to get a tighter seal .
