Rear chipguard cheat

After having my 997 for around 7 years I finally got round to changing the rear stone chip guards having bought new ones from design911.
Unfortunately, having removed the old ones, I have discovered that at some stage before my ownership, a respray must have occurred and the culprit sprayed the clear coat around / over the passenger side protector leaving a clear line in the exact shape of the sharks fin albeit slightly jagged due to the removal.
Having spoken to a sprayer who advised that it is almost an entire side of the car respray and then tried his cheap suggestion of getting the protectors cut 10mm larger to cover the join, to no avail (the join is still visible) it looks like the respray is my only option!!!

Unless someone here has any bright ideas!??

N.b they must be clear as I'm not a fan of the Black sharks fin look. The car is silver.

Thanks
