Radio/CD for early square dash

Hi Chaps

Just wanted to pick peoples brains on what radio looks decent in an early square dash (black dashboard)..... mine came fitted with a modern Pioneer CD player that I think looks awful, the display is the wrong colour for the dash backlighting, is too bright at night with no way to dim the display, and so I am wondering about finding something more appropriate.

Does anyone have any idea on reasonable looking retro units, preferably with a CD player as my tape collection expired a while back !

Interested to hear your suggestions.....

Cheers

Alan

Id buy a Becker. Theyre excellent quality and very steady looking. Theyre frequently available cheaply used, sold by people who dont realise how high quality a unit they actually are, and replaced with a shiny-shiny...

I have a Becker satellite navigation headunit which I think I will install in my car. You can sometimes buy these for not much more than £100, but make sure that you get the aerial, maps CDs and extra harness.

I recently installed a 10 year old Alpine cassette head unit and 6 disc changer (Top of the range when it was new.) Looks the part, adjustable illumination colour and sounds great. Just need to upgrade the speakers now.....[;)]
