radiator fan switch

Hi,
i went to replace the switch and on undoing seemed very tight, the reason being the threads are bu****ed.
i don't want to purchase a new radiator at the moment and wondered if anybody had used chemical metal for such an application, i know i wont be able to get it out again but when and if it goes again i will purchase a new radiator.
i have used plumbers mate ? on a heater matrix on a car years ago without any problems.

I haven't heard of this particular problem with 944's before but if you have used products before that have made a good (though permanent) seal then it sounds safe to do so again. Hopefully your new switch will last over a decade before you have to destroy the radiator to change it again.
