[:)]WOTY (WEEKEND OF THE YEAR) Thursday 5th - Sunday 8th June 2014 - The Coniston Hotel and Country Estate, Near Skipton, North Yorkshire. website www.theconistonhotel.com. TEL: 01756 748080. Ask for Amie Capstick when booking. (We have chosen to start the weekend on a Thursday, as from personal experience Friday now seems the worst day of the week to travel). If some of you would prefer to travel down on Friday please check with the Hotel when booking.
We have personally visited this Hotel and feel that it will make a great WOTY. 14 Rooms have been reserved for us and the Hotel will now hold them until END OF NOVEMBER 2013. We realise this is still an early cut off point for booking, but they already have a high volume of bookings for the Saturday and Sunday night that weekend, SO PLEASE DON'T DELAY IF YOU WISH TO JOIN US. Please contact the Hotel direct, and quote "Mrs Wickins, R12 Porsche Party". They require £25 deposit per room, per night when booking.

This 4* Hotel is set in 1400 acres in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, just 7 miles from Skipton. Skipton is a typical Yorkshire market town, with a good range of shops, a castle and canal trips. Harrogate is also within easy driving distance. The Coniston has its own Falconry Centre, where guests can get up close and personal with falcons, eagles, hawks, owls and buzzards and can fly them to and from the glove. The Hotel have offered us a really good deal if we would be interested in this 3 hour experience. Cost of £20 per head if 20+ people book, and £25 per head for less than 20 people. If you would like to do this, please tell the Hotel when booking your room. It would be helpful if you could also let us know when you have
booked and if you are interested in taking part in the falconry session, so we can keep an overall view of the weekend for numbers etc.
They also offer - clay pigeon shooting, land rover experience, archery and target golf - all at a price!! Check out their website for prices.
We would be happy to organise a scenic drive during the weekend, with a lunch stop, for those who would like to test their Porsches and see some spectacular scenery. We know the area quite well and could recommend some good drives for those who like to do their own thing!!

COST: Prices based on dinner, bed and breakfast : Classic Bedroom £516 per couple. Single Occupancy £396.
Superior Bedroom £588 per couple. No single occupancy
Luxury Bedroom £660 per couple. No single occupancy.
The classic and superior rooms all offer the usual facilities, such as TV, hairdryer, free broadband, trouser press, iron and board, plus hospitality tray. All rooms have beautiful rural views, with some overlooking the lake to the rear of the Hotel. The superior rooms would offer the same as classic rooms but with perhaps more modern decor.
The luxury bedrooms offer more space, plus a seating area and have either a balcony or patio overlooking the lake. The bathrooms are large and have a bath and separate walk in shower, plus bathrobes are provided.
There is a lift and disabled rooms are available.

We are aware that this is more expensive than this years WOTY, but if you want a good quality Hotel this now seems to be the average rate for 2014. The Coniston is in a lovely
area with great facilities and lots to do - hope to see some of you there.[;)]
