Putting a 944 on axle stands

In order to get some jobs done, it would be good to completely raise the front, rear or the entire car on axle stands. For those of you with far more experience of working on 944s than me, can someone explain, with photos if possible, the process of getting the car from 4 wheels on the ground to 4 wheels off the ground and the car sat on axle stands? It would be much appreciated and the thought of an error using the old 'trial and error' method fills me full of dread []
Cheers

There are a number of different locations, to me the two I use most frequently are:

rear - under the aluminium axle carrier - flat plain ali where the axle pivots.

front - under the chassis rails just behind where the brake/ fuel pipes cross over. Or, under the rear track control arm mounts = castor mounts.

Hope this helps,

Chris

Always worth showing this pic again. [:)]

It's dead easy - do one side at a time.

The main jacking point is in the middle of the sills - if you still have the porsche sills on the car there is a diamond shaped mark showing the location.

You can lift the rear of the car with a jack under the gearbox (jack the main part of the box, not the end piece) but I have heard some people say that it doesn't do the gearbox mount any good..

As Chris said there are plenty of good options for axle stands
