Prices seem to be rising dramatically again

However, the increase would appear to be across the classic car market.
10 years ago you could pick up a tidy turbo for around 50k, now you are looking at 200k plus!
The market is driven by what people are prepared to pay. Its not so long ago that the 964 was the poor relation to the 993. Possibly still is, to some enthusiasts!

I remember looking at 996 GT3 Mk1 prices 5 years ago, at around £35K and thinking that they would still be depreciating for a while yet and my 964 is appreciating and before too long we'd meet in the middle & I'd pounce. But both values went up at the same rate, putting the GT3 even further out of reach. [&:]

There are plenty of speculators in the classic car world also who have garage queens and put 200 miles a year on the clock when going for an MOT, so if the prices fall because of panic selling, it'll help the enthusiasts.
Anyway the car in the advert dropped its price from 490K to 49K which is a 10 fold drop so maybe the economy is already in a tailspin [

A few years back I had the opportunity to purchase a 996 turbo for 28k. It was immaculate, low mileage and an exceptionally very well cared for example. I pondered and was torn, unfortunately it meant that I would have had to sell the daily drive, M3 which has practicality and performance! although looking back it would have made a good investment.
