If you want something modern then I think the main Hire Car companies will also do 911's, Mercs etc

They may be more accessible in our area - I looked a couple of years ago, and lots of companies were based around London, with low milage limits on the interesting cars

Budget Rent a Car in Holland have a section called "Top Fun" cars, and I rented an Elise from them for the day, not sure if they do something similar in the UK?

Thanks for your help everyone, after a few enquiries my freind has decided its a bit on the pricey side and has opted for something else. Cheers Andy Mac

[FONT=verdana, geneva"]A few years ago I was a member of the Classic Car Club, where members could drive any car on the fleet within their allocation of points. Cars included Porsches, Mercedes, Ferraris. Maseratis, Jags (including a wonderful E-Type V12) Bentleys etc, and the club offered a taster for potential members which might fit your friend's requirements and pocket. See my experiences here

My branch was in Birmingham, but you could start at www.classiccarclub.co.uk and look for something local.
