Pre Formed Brake Lines

Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone may be able to give me advice. I have a 2003 Porsche Boxster s 3.2 which i have been slowly getting back into a good condition. I need to replace all the brake pipes, which in fairness have lasted extremely well. After a discussion with my mechanic he was of the opinion that Copper Nickle is a better choice than Stainless Steel, he believes it will last longer, I honestly don't know. Also he said that maybe someone in the Porsche Club may know if you can buy pre-formed brake lines and associated connections?
If anyone could advise me if one this is possible and secondly where I would need to go. I'm in the Chiltern Region, but any advice would be gratefully received.

Hi Shane. You can buy pre-formed brake lines from the likes of Design 911 but this is a very expensive way of doing things. Stainless steel is difficult to work with and the preferred choice for mechanics would normally be copper/nickel or 'cunifer'. This is readily available (along with unions/connectors) from Amazon/eBay /motor factors. A competent mechanic would have the necessary tools to form (swage) the ends of the pipes.
 
Thank you for the information, my mechanic said like you that the copper lines would be the best option. It was his suggestion to see about pre-formed to cut down on mechanic hours which wouldn’t be cheap. I will get a quote and take it from there. Thank you for your advice

pure copper should never be used.... dangerous and illegal in many countries. Kunifer/copper,nickel alloy is prefefred

OEM will have been plastic coated(painted) steel brake pipe - a good replacement should be CuNiFer
 
Ive had my done and went OEM as i figured the originals lasted 21 years so not bad really.
