Power per pound?

Any views on best upgrades per pound for the 996 TT? Everything from switching to a K&N filter to the full DMS treatment (already well covered in the Forum), to driving days rather than power upgrades. I'm interested in driveability as well as peak power figure. Also has anyone had temperature problems with chip upgrades. With all that extra power can the standard cooling system cope?
