Will give it a go - I have used Calimoto in Europe and more recently Scotland - found some good roads but as it's for motorbikes can sometimes be narrower than ideal!
 
Yes - used it a few times - largely to follow GPX routes provided by others ( which isn't available in the current version) - not that impressed with it's route generation - but if you happen to find a nearby route that someone else has driven and uploaded it's a good tool - supports carplay if you have it.
