Porsche Festival - Paul Ricard, France

Following a great PCF festival at Spa last weekend, is there any interest in visiting the event at Paul Ricard in the south of France on September 15th and 16th 2007 ?

Details of the event are at www.festivalporsche.fr but are only in French ! I've emailed the organiser to see if there is any documentaton in English that can be distributed.

Paul Ricard is not far from Toulon so it is considerably further than Spa but it could serve as a good excuse as an end of season eurohoon.

According to viaMichelin, Calais to Paul Ricard circuit is 1113 kms each way ! That's a long old hike down.....

Trailer sounds like a good idea, although I'd be happy driving it. There is a motorail service from Calais to Avignon, which isn't far away. That might be a better idea.

The Reims Trip looks favourite with a bit of Ring action encompassing 50 Jahre of Carreraboy.....

I'm seriously considering this weekend, looks like quite a bit of fun... (and it is just up the road from my weekend haunt)
Let me know what info you want pulled from the pages, I speak a bit of snail...

The track activities are outlined here:

and it's pretty self-explanatory.

You can get rides in Cup cars, and drive Cayennes off road, there is also some touring in the hills behind the circuit, departing not less than 5 times over the weekend. Porsche Motorsport will be doing demonstrations, the Trans-Siberian Cayenne will be showing up, the skid school will be open, there will be karting.

The registration link is here:

The packages are as follows:

Pack Sport (2 days)

Includes entry to everything for 2 people for 2 days
1 Parking place
2 welcome kits

2 '' '' Sun

as above for 1 day only Euro 130

or Pack Premium

Additions to this you have the Rallye Touristique at 60 euros per day, skid pan at Euro 85 per day, 2 laps in the passenger seat of the cup car at Euro 95 per day.

Let me know if you've got any other questions?

Cheers
Rick

An English section has recently been added to the Festival website for those who are interested in finding out a little more about the event.
