Porsche Experience when buying a new Porsche?

It's a great day! If you go for the morning experience, you get breakfast (full English or continental etc), one and a half hours driving on their test tracks under instruction in a similar spec car to what you have order and a three course lunch. You also get complimentary soft drinks, tea and coffee. If you go in the afternoon, you get the same driving experience with lunch and afternoon tea. I've been several times and the food is also excellent contrary to what some people say on trip advisor.
Buddy said:You should be offered the PEC visit, if not and it's doubtful on a new car as I've had it when buying approved then ask, they usually give a few gifts with the car too.
And your visit to PEC should be before delivery.
That sounds good, what gifts do you normally get? I guess it varies by centre.
I'm not sure which centre to order from yet. I've had a test drive of a Boxster from the Nottingham centre but haven't really heard from them since.
But I got invited to the launch of the Boxster at the Sheffield centre and they seem more keen.
Saying that, I did get an invite to the 718 Porsche Drive event at the SEC next month (going on Friday 9th) from the Nottingham centre.
Franchise's vary hugely on the goodies with a new car. My factory order 718 Cayman S is with Peter Vardy........not bought a car from them before.
I'll report back when the goodies arrive.
Brian
One thing i am interested in though is the key presentation pack that I've seen a few people post on Facebook. Is this done by every centre?
Thanks,
Richard.
Very true Mr D. When I enquired about my first Boxster back in 1999, the 'Salesman' announced that he wasn't there to try and sell me a car, as we both knew I wanted to buy one! His job was to maintain communications with me during the (then) 9-month waiting period. (Gestation?)MrDemon said:I asked for a cargo net with the GT4 and was billed £45 for it.
The thing is as these cars walk out the door on their own, they don't have to give stuff away I guess !

I put down a deposit on a Cayman S at start of May and have heard not from my salesman apart from e-mail from him to ask me to provide a signed order. I asked for a test drive in a Boxster S ,and this was not fortcoming until I had to chase this up after having hearing nothing. Still took ages to get it sorted.
Wanted a test drive in a manual car but salesman told me they had no manual cars in their group, I found a manual demo car from the Porsche web site at another dealer and asked if he could facilitate this.
I got an e-mail back from salesman saying that I should pretend to be a buyer but' ha ha they may try and sell you another car' I have not replied to the e-mail as I would not dream of going to another dealer to waste their time with such a pretence. Anyway as I live 80 from the dealer they are going to want to see the driving licence and would be asking why I was not buying from my local dealer.
In the end I was quite candid with the other dealer and they were more than happy to give me the test drive and the sales manager was very helpful and spent quite a bit of time discussing the car with me. in the end I was wishing I could transfer my deposit!
As this is my first Porsche purchase for 20 years is this how dealers normally treat their customers ?
