Porsche 944 Needed for TV Appearance

Attaboy TV

New member
Hi all

I'm part of the production team at Attaboy TV working on a brand new motoring programme for National Geographic. The programme pits two teams of mechanics against each other to break a car that is beyond repair, sell the parts and see who can make the most money. Primarily we like to see how the parts we strip go on to help other people's projects and restorations.

As part of the series we're featuring a Porsche 944.

For the beginning of the episode we're looking to film a 'pristine version' of an Porsche 944. This will act as stock footage to set up the story for the rest of the programme. Essentially the car will be used to show how good a Porsche 944 can look before our presenters find one that is beyond repair to break.

As such we need a Porsche to film with that is in good condition (possibly having undergone a resto). We're looking to film at a location in Surrey either next week or the week after.

If you have such a vehicle and want to have it featured on TV please email me: matt@attaboytv.com with your availability over the next couple of weeks. Preferably if you could send some pics of your car it would be appreciated. We would require you and your car for the one day and would cover travel expenses and provide a DVD of the finished programme after it has aired.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Matt,

Firstly can I state that I don't have a 944, but have been involved in the past with supplying cars for TV. In the past, a certain TV program has abused owners precious cars such that many members will not supply their cars again. Whilst I appreciate your offer of expenses and a DVD, some owners will need more than travel expenses; at the very least most will require concrete reassurances and accurate details of exactly what you intend to do with the 944.

Hi Derek,

Thank you for your response. Anybody interested in this is welcome to contact me and we can discuss finer details i.e. the exact things that we're looking to do, what more we could potentially offer etc. However it will take an essay to put it all up here and we deal with each car on a case by case basis. I'm in the process of trying to source 15 cars of various makes and marques.

I have been involved in car programmes for a number of years and have done this type of thing with numerous owners - about 40 to date and I haven't had any isses with how the cars have been treated when I have been the organiser.

However like I say if anybody is interested and wants to discuss please get in touch and I can talk it through any concerns you might have.

Regards,

Matt

Hi Matt,

The Club has a display Register specifically to help, with a database of cars and their locations, and owners who would be happy to help. Call Mac or Sue McLeod on 01253 592755, or e-mail display (at) porscheclubgb.com

Thanks Paul.

We have had a fairly quiet winter, we had a weekend away from the computer to attend the Workers' conference and the AGM, and by the end of today we have had a request from three different sources.

What's that saying about buses ?
