Yes it is still a petrol/diesel World.
Although Volvo has just announced that the are ending their Diesel car production, and are going full tilt with Electric cars.
By 2020 all the car big boys will have Full Electric cars for sale.
Many will be available in 2018/19.
Most people I know are not even aware this is happening.
They are cleaner, smoother, and more reliable and cheaper to run.
Makes sense.

No.
Don't forget we lost the weight that was the original engine and petrol tank.
Most of the weight was at the back before, making the car less 'stable'.
Now the weight is at the front and the middle giving a much better ride.
The Electric motors sit in the old engine bay.
Also adding new powerful brakes and power steering, gives the car a 'better' driving experience.
Several Porche owners (including a Porsche magazine journalist) have driven the car,
and are very impressed with it.
There will be another two videos, and a magazine feature to follow in the coming weeks.

The original weight was 1300 Kg.
It now weighs 1390 Kg.
The original weight distribution of the 911 was around 40/60.
Now it's a much more neutral (and safe) 48/52.
