I've just discovered the MP3 capability on a recently delivered 997 C2S and am well pleased with it... but suprised not much is made about it by the dealer. Heres what I have found so far:

- Also works fine with Windows Media Player format music files (.WMA) So no need to convert if you already have a large collection of WMA
- Uses Folder system, a la CR changer function. ie each recorded CD appears as a different folder item, navigated using the PCM buttons or multi funtion steering wheel
- Each folder item can be sub navigated to the track list using the same selection actions above
- Each recording contains full artist and track textual data, displayed on the PCM, unlike a regular audio CD, so much better
- CD changer/Ipod interface not required: - I can fit 20'ish full CD's on a single CD-RW disc. So given the 2 glove box CD holders, plus the CD in the drive I can fit 60 favourite CD's in the car (about 4.5Gbytes)

Would be nice to see them make the same sort of progress with the appalling phone and nav systems

Now all I need to do is find out how to mute just the audio volume and have it remain off when I next start the ignition. Any one have a clue about this
