PCM 2.1 Bluetooth upgrade

I've coded a few in for people who have fitted them.
They appear to work as they should and are quite easy to fit.
Wiring wise they require a switched 12V supply and an earth.
Probably the most difficult part is getting the fiber-optic cables for the MOST circuit the right way round. If you get them the wrong way round the MOST circuit shuts down until you rectify the loop and reset the stereo by turning it off and on again.
Once it is wired and linked to the fiber-optic loop - your car just needs coding to take advantage of the functionality if you dont have the CD auto-changer already installed.
If you have the CD autovhanger installed already then it should work without re-coding. You will lose the CD auto-changer functionality though as Bluetooth unit emulates it.

If this is fitted to a PCM2.1 it shows an error on start up as it cant find the CD auto-changer, but this clears and everything works OK.

I appreciate replacing the head unit is an option, but I like to keep a car original where possible and this seemed a sensible workaround.
 
Try searching for PorscheDAB they are a trading name of Cartronics. They can't do much with PCM3 but can do Carplay on PCM 3.1 and 4. But also seem to be able to retrofit DAB to PCM2/2.1 so might be worth a try to see if they still do it.

Otherwise as irb26 said there are ones about like you have found but may need some coding done.
