PAS reservoir cap

Hairyarse

New member
I've had a little weep of PAS fluid for a little while - nothing to worry about as I've barely had to top it up but the weep appears to be coming out from under the cap, as the reservoir itself gets a thin coating of fluid.

Is it common for the seal of the cap to go and can you buy these new still? I'm guessing yes as I think it's a common part across many cars but I can't seem to find one!

That sounds unusual , are you getting frothing up of the fluid due to an air leak into the system somewhere ?

Nick

Sometimes the return line to the reservoir leaks and the fluid can then either run out of the bottom of the line looking like the rack is leaking or at the top mine did this and it was just the line that needed to be remade onto the reservoir.

I though I heard on another forum that the pas reservoirs can weep at the seam or lid after a while.

Initially I would replace the cap and go from there.

Andy,

I have a complete reservoir with good cap if you want it, try the cap or change the whole thing let me know

Thanks for the feedback guys. I don't think I have any frothing and one hose at least was replaced by the last owner not so long ago.

I have wiped down the reservoir a few times and it always ends up with a small amount of fluid back but just around the top near the cap.

Andy - I'll take you up on that please - PM me how much you would like and paypal info etc and I'll sort with you [;)]

Andy,

I never said I would sell it to you! You can have it mate, you helped me out earlier in the year.
