part number and online supplier sort

Hi guys

Does anyone know the part number for the front suspension ball joint boot... I just need the rubber boot. This is for my turbo, but I assume they are all the same? Also, can anyone help with a supplier of said boot online? I just don't have time right now to call the main dealer ( can be hit a miss to get through) so somewhere that I can just order the part after-hours online would help.

Hope someone knows the answer...:)

Kind regards

Pete

Yeah same for me when I needed one. MOT garage guy rummaged in his box for a few seconds and handed me one free of charge. What was much harder was splitting the joint to change the thing, ended up taking some very persuasive persuasion and the use of 2 ball joint splitters on top of each other!! I suppose it hadn't moved for 30+ years as was the original arm. Ball joint was still absolutely perfect and a re-grease and new boot done the trick. This, with the car being down 60mm for at least 20 years, blows the theory that lowering kills ball joints on these cars, well in my mind anyway!

To be fair I had to replace the ball joint on the other side (OS) and got one of those Hamburg Technic kits for about £50 which was perfect and still good a couple of years down the road.

There were reports on Rennlist of ball joints failing on lowered tracked cars. And I think it can also do odd things to the geometry and steering. But I guess you get used to the way a car feels over time. My car had 18" wheels when I bought it, so slightly heavier steering never bothered me.

Thanks for the suggestion guys...I found a set of 14 different shaped ball joint boots on eBay, 2x of each. I have ordered a set as they are very cheap and thus worth a try.

I'll report back if they are suitable once fitted.

Cheers

Pete
