Hi All
Just to fill you in had to leave my 991 cabrio in for a small warranty job and was offered a new Panamera facelift with only 300 miles on it for two days. Basalt black in the forecourt what a big car now im looking at it and comparing it to the Cayenne i have , got all the guidance and so on drove away and picked the long haired one at "House of Fraser" ???? this is one big thing she said !!!! , I said now lets not get personal, enough lets talk about the car.
Entered the motorway and drove towards home about 60 miles away, Ann we are doing 100 mph ,she casually looked from my left over her glasses and said this is aeroplane material not a tyre sound, not a wind noise, no sports exhaust, I like this.
Arrive home and really i looked at the car and i am really impressed. Showed the car to the neighbours and really hi this is ahead of its time. took my grandchildren for a run and they really loved it .
Early morning rise the cabrio is ready for picking up, so a drive to Belfast , need to get some fuel so i looked at the remaining distance on the computer 219 miles , happy days no problem belfast is 70 miles away.
Drove at average 65/70 mph and ocassionally passed lorries at 85/90 and then back to NSL. Arrived at Porsche Centre and looked at remaining distance 199 miles. This thing is unbelieveable , i checked the average mpg and it stated 46.7 mpg. Talked to Paul and queried why am i not getting that mileage from my Cayenne same engine ????? , well 4 wheel drive , not as aero dynamic, heavier etc etc.
Really impressed , looking into Hybrid Panamera but on leaving Porsche Center 991 s in sport mode and testing a bit of rubber all the saving left my thoughts for about 20 miles , the long haired one said bring back the Panamera ???. You decide
