[FONT=arial"]I just completed a trip to Holland, we did 1140 miles in total going from Merseyside to Dover, Calais, through Belgium and accross to the far East side of Holland and then back home.
The trip computer was zeroed at the start on a full tank and left to avaerage over the full trip and 3 tankfulls. The roads and driving conditions varied, mostly motorways, some local driving, some fast & steady 85mph, plenty of 50mph sections on M6, some long queues in Holland at peak time and on M6 on way home last night.
The final trip average over the 1140 miles was 33.5mpg which I was amazed with, very satisfied, I never expected it to be so economical. The highest I saw on the trip was 33.8mpg at one time but the local driving dropped the overall average down a bit. By the way, this was always with 98 octane Super unleaded fuel.
I've done some checks with the trip computer against measured fuel re-fills and it seems to be very accurate compared to others I've had that are a bit optimistic so I think the figure of 33.5mpg is fairly accurate. I'm well pleased, for a 2.7litre 245bhp engine it's brilliant, my Subaru Impreza would have only done 28mpg or so on the same trip!
