Out of retirement, into the front line...!

Well, after an annoying and frightening few days, which saw our family Merc estate taken off the drive in the middle of the night(with keys...!!!) the trusty 160000 mile 944 S2 (retired) is now a shopping and family wagon until the insurance is done and dusted. It has so far, been amazing. The school run, a return trip of 200 miles, gazillion shopping bags of supermarket rubbish, and 2 kids all in its stride. Built to last or what?! Right, hope that hasn't jinxed it... But I'm mightily impressed for a 20 yr old motor.
Look after them, and they'll see you right. All I'm really missing is air con, though if it was fitted, chances are that it would be broken by now...;)

Welcome to my life! Only my S2 has nearer 170000 miles on it ... It's a good feeling, driving such a car for daily business.

I think you need to update your sig. [;)]

Oli.

I get a great buzz from driving mine.. I drove mine for everyday for 2 months and it was superb.. Pleanty of room for B&Q stuff.. I brought down a load of medical equipment from a factory in Letterkenny to Galway... ! I was surprised how much it would take... I had to be careful with closing the tailgate but [:D]

First off my sympathy in having the Merc nicked. That must be a major pain! Good to hear Ye Olde S2 has stepped up to the breach, though!

I have used mine as a daily driver for almost 2.5 years now, and currently do 1200-2400 miles a month in it, it is now at 215,300 miles!
