The 992 register ventured ‘Up North’ in today for our ‘Great North Run’ an outstanding drive of around 75 miles through the Yorkshire Dales.
Although the day started and ended in continuous rain, we could all appreciate just how lovely this area of the country is.
The North Loop (or Nordschleife as they say in German) started and finished at Bridge House Farm Tearooms in Wray and took in some of the best roads through North Lancashire and the Yorkshire Dales.
Passing the three peaks of Pen-y-Ghent, Ingleborough and Whearnside and though steep sided dales such as Garsdale along many tight twisty roads made for spirited driving.
The spectacular Ribblehead viaduct was a memorable view., even through the raindrops.
Many thanks to Geoffrey Stewart for organising the excellent route and Jon & Staff at Bridge House Cafe for fabulous hospitality and of course many thanks to all 23 members in 13 x 992’s for making the day about cars and conversations…….
