Oulton Park Saturday 21st September

Simples! Tom starts the race, after 20 minutes he comes into the pits switches off , slackens the belts, leaps out and we change drivers.

With the helmet and HANS on its very difficult to put the 6-point harness on and make sure it's seated round the HANS device, because you can't look down at the release mechanism.

So we need someone (not wearing a helmet & HANS) to reach into the car pull the belts over and clip them into the clasp. Check they are correctly held and over the HANS device.

I pull the tensioners up tight and re-start the car (hopefully). If not a push may be needed. Then I'm on my way.

Takes about 40 seconds.

Practice run before the race.
 
Yes I can definitely do that for you no probs. ! Is it a six point harness ? Comes up between your legs , one each side of your waist and two drop down over the shoulders ?
That would be really exiting :)

I have the same steering wheel fitted to my S2 ! Not got that nice race seat or all the other nice race trick bits fitted though .
I am up for it , Based in the Northwest .
How do you want to go about it ?
Do you want to meet up first ,to make sure I have two arms ? and fit in with the rest of the team ?

Something like 13 Porches entered in the Modern Classics (out of 23) race and 17 in the Future Classics race (full grid).
 
As a matter of interest Andy how do you know, I haven't got my confirmation of entry yet?

Im looking forward to it. I have a strong family connection with OP, although I havent been for years (that long ion fact, that they used to race on Sundays!).
 
I believe that my father and my uncle (who is a proper racer) were both competing in the CSCC Deutsche Marque championship in 2011, although I didnt know at the time.

I was in DM in 2011, so we probably know each other?
 
Ah! the Strukin Fuggle 325, yes we raced together at Donnington.

It was when DM series was dominated by some quick ex-kumo tyres cars.

Not very even matched classes I'm afraid, hence I moved to Future Classic the next season.

Damn, I was having a senior moment. The above post of mine refers to Donington this Saturday and not OP. Sorry.

Hopefully the class structure in CSCC "Modern Classics" is more evenly matched for the vast majority of cars it is designed to attract now.

It would be good to get the 325 back - the 1801cc to 2500cc class of MC was specifically designed for those sorts of cars (and 2.5 944s etc) as they would not normally have been competitive in a 2 litre to 3 litre class. That's why I have bought a 924S to race!
