Right i am fed up with scrapping shells so i have started a show project and thought i would share it with you.

I had a 1988 with a front end shunt so i have now removed the parts for selling but i have kept the shell, removed the floor pan and rear running gear, fuel tank and gearbox and then removed and lowered the floor. I am now looking for a suitable trailer chassis and a towbar for my 944.

I am intending to make a 944 trailer with working lights, 944 wheels, working sunroof etc for shows and of course the Cornbury house 944 car boot sales (hope thats not cheating).

I will take a few photos and post as i get going.

Does anybody out there have a towbar for a 944 by any chance?

Has anybody ever seen a 944 trailer before - will this be the first?

Paul - i will write an article for the PP to go with the one i have nearly finished cheers

Elliot,

I'm pretty sure I have seen a picture of a 968 with a 968 trailer behind it. Same colour on both car and trailer, same (17inch Cup 1) wheels. In yellow, if my memory serves me well.

A bit of googling will find it for you, I'm sure.

Oli.

Just had a google & found this:

Yes I know it's not a 944 but I like it anyway [8D]

I did a Polo Bread van years back.. before digital photo's so ones about some where in the loft..

As you I had a wrecked car front end and the rear was good.. I am thinking of doing some thign again as I need a trailer so funey you should post this up.. it's easy to do, rather than just put in a flat pannel you will need to make some ribs to stop the flat area being pounded by the wind as You drive.. you may have to make a shape to it.. I was lucky the ones I did the cars just needed a flat sheet and support and still looked good.
