OK to put 18"s on a '95 C4?

Been fed a line today that you really wouldn't want to put 18"s on a '95 C4, due to a multitude of reasons.

However, as long as there's been a steering rack brace fitted, I thought it was OK. I know the ride quality will suffer, but there's no other reason not to is there? Seen a couple of 95 C4's for sale with the 18"'s, so just wanted to get my facts straight before I go and have a look. Thanks.

no reason why you cant..

it's just a bigger wheel with a reduced diameter tyre...

the overall radius is the same.. i.e. you could always do 19" if you wanted although with vvvv low profile tyres!

I had 18's on my 993 and it was fine. As you say just remember the steering brace.

Porsche never did recommend 18s for targas and cabs - they will increase the suspension load, causing the body to flex more. Just because something will fit does not mean the components are designed to take it. If you go fitting 18s/19s against the manufacturer's recommendation, you have zero comeback if something breaks................

looks like i'll stick with the 17" on my targa then [:D]
