Having recently completed the changing of some brake pipes, followed by a short test drive i put my 1983 944 up on ramps at the back and axle stands at the front to check for any leaky fittings then left the car like that for a couple of days until i had time to look at it again.
When i came back to the car i started it up to remove it from the ramps and the oil light stayed on so i took it off the ramps and turned it off. I presumed that the problem was that the oil level was a bit low, as it was on the bottom notch on the dipstick, and the car had been sat with a slightly nose down stance. So i got some more oil and topped it up to the top notch on the dipstick.
Problem not solved, oil light still comes on and the oil pressure guage doesnt go up at all.
It sounds fine when i start it put i have not run it for more than 10 seconds just in case.
Does anyone have any ideas as to a possible cause and suggestions on how to check them out.
All help massively appreciate, many thanks Tom
